New Fat bike with two chainrings up front and twice the amount of gears. The Fatty Fat Bike features some of the most progressive 'fat' geometry out there. Since hitting the scene over a year ago we've evolved it further to meet the changing demands and advancements of the fat bike world. This new build has a 2x10 SRAM X5 set-up, increasing things two-fold. More gears, more fat, more fun.
For all terrain riding, whatever the conditions, whatever the weather, there can be but one option. Based around the huge 4" tires and 70mm rims, the Fatty grips to surfaces that just aren't made for confident two wheeled riding. 6061 CNC'd aluminum hubs with a 135mm axle at the front, 170mm rear keep the Fatty rolling over anything you encounter. At 6-15 psi they soak up shocks like a suspension fork, and allow you to tune your ride through your tire pressure.
We've kept the SRAM X5 groupset on it but doubled it up; two up front, ten at back. What this means is you have twice as many gears, and a lower climbing gear to tackle even more ground than before. You could say it's twice as good because of this, and you would be correct.
Why get Fat? Why not?! It's a totally new experience, trail capable and fun fun fun. Our chief 'fatty' tester Jon "Shaggy" Ross, rode the whole of the gruelling Trans Provence race route on his prototype Fatty, solidly putting this genre on the map for trail capable handling. Four inches of bouncy rubber might be a world away from 150mm full suspension bikes, but it's like compared cheese and chocolate. Fat was good, now get fatter.
